Some awesome photos of me from Tuesday night at the Warp Zone show at The Virgil in LA. I wish I’d gotta a shot out of the spot light because I really changed up my Soda Fountain dress from ModCloth by adding in some fun patterned tights and some boots.
Fun anecdote, I was hosting so I was up and down all night, but did my actual material at the start. A girl came late to the show, missed my set but watched the rest of it, and said the dress looked so natural on me that she didn’t even register the fact that I was even wearing one until the very end of the show when I went up to wrap things up.
I love posting “action” shots of me out and about or in public in my looks, which is why it’s so awesome that Steven Robles of World Domination Designs is always so keen to take such great photos of me onstage at Director’s Cut. I like these shots because they give a little more visibility to the stockings which I could not be more in love with.
This is my first purchase from ModCloth and I adore it. I speak to so many fashionista girls that tell me they stalk dresses on that site and that really is the perfect way to describe it. I wish this dress was just a wee-bit longer so I could confidently wear it without tights, but at the same time, I love how it works with these tights so maybe it’s the perfect length.
Dress - ModCloth
Tights - Pretty Polly (Via Modcloth)
Boots - Target
Bracelets - Target and Old Navy
Wrap - Charlotte Russe
Belt - Old Navy (The dress came with a cool studded belt but it was too small)
Trying some versatility with one of my favorite dresses. Normally always wear a cardi over it but trying a layered look tonight instead. I had a belt on but my roommate talked me out of it.
I don’t think I’ve worn this dress since September. It was associated with heartbreak for me because I wore it both on the first date and the night I was told the girl I fell for last fall was leaving me for someone else.
But I just was looking for a fun Valentine’s Day outfit today and my hands came across this dress and I just felt like, today is the day to bring it back from exile. It’s also a warm enough day to go bare legged, and I like the doubling up of the necklaces that I’m experimenting with here.
Performed stand up during the Giggle N Grind burlesque show at the Improv Lab tonight hosted by Lucky Deluxe, so I felt I had to step my game up a little bit with some textured tights and some heels added to one of my favorite outfit combos.
It’s kind of a running joke that I’m often dressed up more than actual women on the shows I do, but tonight with burlesque dancers performing on the bill it was a rare show where the women actually were more decked out than me. Well, until about halfway through their sets when that started to change a bit.
Decided to lady it up tonight for a late dinner and drinks with a friend who is about to leave town for a month. Unfortunately this bathroom mirror self portrait is the best shot I have of my look for the night. Based on a request I promise to do an entry explaining my current technique for building that cleavage.
Continuing the trend of actually doing some posts this week, here’s an ensemble I put together tonight. I wore the skirt today to work but wore it with a black t-shirt and tennis shoes for a look that isn’t all that dissimilar to the one from this recent entry. After work I decided to dress it up a little, so I added the shirt in this picture, a tank from Charlotte Russe that I bought last fall. It is a little too flared at the bottom for me to wear it often because I think it widens my hips and doesn’t tend to layer well over skirts, but I liked how the cardigan sort of plays it down. The necklace is new, got that this week at Old Navy. Shoes are Toms.
I have worn a skirt now every day since friday. Interested now in making it sort of a game to see if I can keep it up and for how long. I didn’t post a picture of yesterday’s look but it was just my purple kilt with a black v-neck t-shirt which is a pretty common look for me.
